Experience
I graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have been a fourth grade teacher for four years. During that time, I have been teaching subjects like reading, writing, science, math, social studies, and health. In addition, I prepared my fourth graders for the AIMS standardized test. I tutored several of my students after school hours in math and reading. While teaching fourth grade, I returned to school to work toward my master's degree in Education. I earned my master's degree in Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. After earning my master's, I moved on to teaching students with autism on a one-to-one basis. I enjoy tutoring children of all ages and abilities, but am most passionate about tutoring math and English reading and writing to children from kindergarten to sixth grade. I enjoy discovering my students' unique learning styles and tailoring my teaching style to fit their needs. There are many different ways to learn, and in my experience, children benefit from a combination of techniques. I enjoy helping children become confident and successful students through tutoring. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy activities like hiking, swimming, and traveling to new locations.
