Private tutor in Scottsdale, AZ

Education

I am Senior in computational Mathematics at Arizona State University. Previously attended Western Michigan University. Life long passion for learning and reading. I have read extensively on a wide variety of subjects. I have been a part time tutor for about 15 years. I have successfully tutored hundreds of students across all ages from 9 to Seniors.

Experience

I am qualified to tutor all High school and middle school subjects. Often I will tutor a student in Biology, mathematics, and history, all in one tutoring session. I help students discover the most effective way to take notes, study, and stay organized. I also can tutor unusual classes or tests. For example I recently helped a woman prepare for an ultrasound technician certification. Just because I haven't seen the your test before, doesn't mean I can't help. I do private test prep tutoring for the following exams: PSAT ( most important test for scholarships ), SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, ASVAB, and MCAT ( physics and chemistry ACT: 35 SAT: 1540/1600 My Program is better than a class. I can tailor a program to a students weak areas. I will help students raise grades quickly. On a college Level, I tutor physics, chemistry, calculus, biology, mathematics, and statistics I am patient, professional, FUN, and adaptable, informal, and a little nontraditional. My greatest talent is explaining how I complete a problem or question. I will not simply do a students homework. I want to teach the student to do their own homework. I use a meta-cognition approach to learning. I want the to student to ask themselves, what is our strategy? Why are we solving the problem this way? In general I advocate multidisciplinary learning to foster problem solving and creativity. Over all I have an love of life and an enthusiasm for knowledge I share with my students My Rate is $40/hr I am not the cheapest tutor out there, but I am the best value! If you aren't satisfied 100% after every lesson, you do not have to pay me. It is just that simple. I love what I do and I am very good at it.
