Education

I just graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina and I will be matriculating at Oxford University as an undergraduate in the fall.

Experience

I have over 100 hours of private and National Honor Society tutoring. I finished high school with a 4.86 weighted GPA and received a 2290 on the SAT: 760 Math, 760 Critical Reading, and 770 Writing. I love working with kids, and I firmly believe in doing any and everything I can to develop strategies and skills specifically tailored to a particular child to help him or her not just survive school, but love it and thrive in it. My academic experience: In high school, I took AP World History, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Chemistry, AP United States History, AP US Government and Politics, AP Art History, and I also self-studied AP Comparative Government and Politics, and AP Psychology without course instruction. If your child is taking or planning to take any of these courses, or even their lower-level equivalents, I have a large wealth of study materials and guides that I have collected or made myself over the years. In addition, I took upper level undergraduate literature courses at UNC Chapel Hill as a high school student during the summers and received A's in all of them. On weekends during the school year, I traveled to national debate tournaments and won several, and made it to final outrounds of many others. In December of 2013, I traveled to England to undergo a week-long, grueling interview process with hundreds of other applicants for five spots to study English Language and Literature at Oxford. I am highly motivated, but I wouldn't be in this position without spending years experimenting with different study methods and learning techniques. Test taking and doing well in school isn't easy, and I did not always excel in it -- but I had several educational breakthroughs in high school that I am eager to pass on to other burgeoning scholars.
