Experience
I have experience teaching language arts at the middle school level. Classes I've taught include ESL, general education, and honors level. I am certified to teach kindergarten through eighth-grade, and I'm endorsed for ESL for K - 12 students. As a tutor, I've find the most effective approach is to tailor lessons to the individual needs and learning style my students. To accomplish this, I get to know my student and figure out how to keep them engaged. I think the lessons the relate topics to real life and other studies to make concepts easier to understand and more relatable. Beyond tutoring students in the subject matter, I also help them develop learning skills that they can utilize throughout their academic and professional careers. I can tutor students in English, reading, phonics, executive functioning, elementary math, middle school math, business, and study skills. I'm comfortable working with students of any age or level of ability. I'm looking forward to helping students achieve success. In my free time, I like to read, write, and travel.
